We said SKIP on August 23, 2026. Not settled — due August 23, 2027.
Read this with the caveat. We tested the engine that produced this verdict against 292 launches whose outcomes we already knew, and could not show it predicted which survived. Some of its data sources were also dead at the time of scoring. The verdict stays up, dated and unedited, because a record you can quietly revise is not a record — but it is worth less than it looked when it was written.
Every channel for the actual topic is empty: zero Reddit, zero on-topic HN threads, no keywords. The only real demand signal is a competitor set that plays in a different market (IaC and cloud DB migration) and is composed of funded giants selling into enterprise compliance procurement. That combination — no verified demand for the specific wedge plus the hardest possible buyer — is a SKIP for a solo founder with no audience.
The paying-competitor set (Terraform, AWS DMS, Pulumi, Snyk/Aqua) proves demand for cloud migration and security tooling generally, but none of it is evidence for MCP-specific security/migration tooling — and every social and keyword channel is empty for the actual topic.
The named incumbents are IBM/HashiCorp, AWS, Pulumi and Snyk — funded giants selling into enterprise security and compliance procurement, and the stated gaps (SOC2/HIPAA/PCI playbooks, automated remediation, post-migration monitoring with rollback) are exactly the heavy, audited, deep-integration work a solo founder cannot ship or sell quickly.
MCP is genuinely new and the incumbents listed have nothing shipped for it — a solo dev who publishes a free open-source MCP server scanner (tool-poisoning, prompt-injection, over-broad OAuth scopes, secret exfiltration) could own the category vocabulary before anyone funded arrives, exactly the Plausible/Snyk-CLI playbook. The evidence set here looks mis-scoped to cloud migration rather than MCP, so the empty channels may reflect a bad query rather than a dead market.
What is worth more than this page. The register records what became of 6,266 real launches. No engine has to be right for that to be true.
